Kay Lyn Carlson, LMSW, is a graduate of Washburn University with her undergrad and graduate degree in social work. Having experienced abortion herself over 25 years ago and studying abortion and its effects/affects for the past 12 years Kay Lyn understands the impact that abortion has on women, men and families.

When I was 17, I had an abortion that nearly cost me my life. I once thought that God would never forgive me, that I shouldn't forgive myself, and that I was unworthy to live. I suffered from depression, abortion trauma, anxiety, self-hatred, unresolved grief just to name a few. At my lowest point I cried out to God for Death to come sweep over me because I could not deal with the pain any longer.

Today, I love the journey I'm on - to help heal others with their similar pain, to educate about the devastating effects of abortion and to share my recovery journey with others so that they may receive the same joy that I have received in Christ.
